Since launching CoachPress version 2.0, many coaches have suggested excellent ideas for improving the registration process. In this version, we have tried to incorporate as many of these good ideas as possible.

Facebook Integration

When logging-in or registering, your users now have the option of using their Facebook account. Keep an eye out for the following button:

Rather than remembering a special username and password, your members, coaches and sponsors can now simply use their Facebook account instead.

Please note: if the email address used by the Facebook account matches the email address of an existing user, the two accounts will merged automatically. If no matching email is found, users will be forced to re-register using Facebook to enable this feature.

Facebook integration is a snap- members can register using their existing Facebook account, and Aquanite will automatically grab the member’s name, location, birthday and even photo (when available). Better still, the member will not have to remember a special username and password- they can simply use their Facebook account instead.

Special note for coaches: if your members are sharing the same computer, make sure everyone uses the “Log Out” feature when they are done (check the top-right corner of the screen from any page of the control panel section).

If the user has logged-in via their Facebook account, they will be prompted to logout from their Facebook account also. This will ensure that other members cannot access each other’s Facebook accounts from the shared computer.

Membership Form

The customizable membership form has been upgraded substantially. First and foremost, required fields are now highlighted in red like so:

If a member has forgotten to fill-out a required field, they will be forced back to their profile page until they provide the required information.

You will also notice the ability to include the same member in multiple groups.

The Edit Membership Form section has also been improved. When adding or editing a custom field, you will now see new options:

You can now create a drop-down box in addition to other form types. Choices are set in the new Values box, separated by a comma. For example:

apples, bananas, carrots, a big box of cookies

Would generate a drop down box with the choices:

  • apples
  • bananas
  • carrots
  • a big box of cookies

The Sort Order allows you to control the order in which questions appear.

The Required option allows you to mark a custom field as required (users will not be able to leave the membership form until they provide this information).

The Group option allows you to set a specific custom field for a specific group. For example, if a custom field is assigned to “Group A”, only members belonging to “Group A” will see this question. This will allow you to customize your membership form according to group.

Improved Privacy

The “make email private” option has been replaced with the new Hide Me feature:

If enabled, the user (member or coach) is hidden from the corresponding roster. They will remain visible in your control panel, but not on the public website.

We have also replaced all email addresses with new Contact Buttons like this:

A user must be logged-in before contacting another user. Rather than email, the new Contact Buttons rely on a users-only internal contact form:

The end result is the same- users can still easily contact one-another through your Aquanite website; however, their security and privacy while doing so has been vastly improved.

Calendar Holidays

You can now designate holidays for your calendar. Check under the Settings menu for Calendar Holidays:

Enter one holiday per line, month and day only; your calendar will automatically ignore all events scheduled for a designated holiday. For example, if you have a recurring event running through the month of July, and designate July 4 as a holiday, the calendar will know to show July 3 events, skip July 4, and continue to show July 5 events normally.

More to Come

As always, we have more features and fixes scheduled for future releases. Make sure to visit the Help Desk if you need any help with any of these new features.
